teenagers are my friends

I joined Facebook a while back because of this quiz. I played it for a while, pretty much maxed out my points potential, and decided it wasn't worth getting carpal tunnel to improve my score further. Also, I'm not sure I *can* improve my score further. So I'm just going to have to continue being #3 in my network. (I made the mistake of telling my super-smart cousin and one of the map guys at work about it.)

I've found long-lost friends on facebook - I now know that my roommate from nerd camp in 1990 works a block away from me, and we're meeting up on Tuesday. You could debate whether it's all that bad to lose track of long-lost friends - if you can't be bothered to keep up by phone and e-mail, why keep up through facebook?

I expected to find old friends, but I didn't expect this: a bunch of my facebook friends are in high school. Of course, facebook is where all the teenagers hang out. This includes all the teens in the christmas show, and one by one they've been friending me. I'm oddly honored by this. And now I get to spy on them and their wall-to-wall conversations about the christmas show. Good times.

when i joined last year, almost all my friends were the Christmas teens, too. i mean, Revels is Revels and age kinda blends away . . . but to my other friends on there, it must have looked a little odd. :)

I have quite a few undergrad 'friends' (students, former students, and my cousin's daughter), and having an occasional look at their lives is hilarious! I had a high-school friend for a while (M.Bro's sis) and then I think she realized that there were things on her page she didn't want oldsters to see, and we all got booted - hilarious!

Awwwwwwwwww. You've been welcomed by the teens. When I was in Revels, I kept seeing them around DC. I think they were stalking me.

T.H., I keep seeing your kid from Scandinavian on the metro - I think she must live in her neighborhood. It's very strange to me that I have a relationship (in the sense of waving and saying hi) with this kid, without remotely recognizing the grownups who travel with her.

Mel teased me about not having any Facebook friends, so I reminded her that I'd sent her an as-yet-unresolved friend request. She realized pretty quickly that she had backed herself into a corner, but I'm a nice person so I let it drop.

TOWWAS, you should totally friend my mom. As stated in a comment on Spice's blog, she has a page. Same last name as me. E-mail me if that's not enough info.

TOWWAS, I ran into my Scandanavian kid's dad on the metro not long after the Scandanavian show. That family just keeps popping up!
