On the way back from Vermont, the GPS decided we should take surface streets through the Bronx. I think this was probably a good idea, because the mile or two we did do on the Cross-Bronx Expressway were kind of nightmarish.
Also, the Bronx is totally entertaining. They have very specific ideas there about how stores should be decorated. Every business has a sign covering approximately the top two feet of its street side. Every sign is covered with as much text as could possibly fit. And the signs are basically the width of the business, so they abut the neighbors' signs.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture until we'd gotten past the most text-heavy strips. But you still get an idea from this one business. Good times.
