I got this in an e-mail the other day:
"On Monday, May 12, from 8:15-9:15, the [organization] will host a Breakfast for Journalists in the Private Dining Room on the first floor of the [hotel]. It will be an excellent opportunity for you to connect one-on-one with keynote, plenary, and special session speakers at the [conference]."
Can I just say? Nothing that happens at 8:15 on a Monday morning is a good opportunity to connect with anyone.

Oh, but I've heard plenary speakers are notoriously early risers!
i agree. when my un-boss calls me at 9am to check in on what i have for the day, i'm still fighting my way through my first cup of coffee. thank goodness i'm good at BSing my way through the first few minutes of the conversation until i can figure out what i need to recall.

Yup. Agreed. Even if the only people you see at 8:15 am on Monday morning are your kids.
