Something very exciting happened today at work: we had a going-away party (that's not the exciting part - it's a fairly regular occurrence). Going-away parties at work are graded according to the quality of the food. Booze? Wine's standard, but they only break out whiskey for special occasions. Shrimp? You were clearly a valued employee. A few weeks ago, my day was pretty much ruined by a going-away party that was dry, by the request of the honoree. I'd been looking forward to that glass o' red wine all day, and was not pleased when I found nothing but fruity soda.
But today's party topped them all. It was for an editor who's been there forever and is known for his devotion to Ben & Jerry's, particularly on free cone day. So we had ice cream. Ben & Jerry's sent a little guy with a cooler, three kinds of ice cream, and a lot of toppings. Plus there were bottles of Godiva, cherry, and coffee liquor that you could put on your ice cream. (I mixed 'em with coke.) Truly, a success.

Those toppings sound especially delish...
Oh wow! That's about the nest party menu ever.
