This dude liked it. Also, one of his friends uses a picture of Éomer as his avatar. Nerdy awesomeness. This review is sandwiched between personal life news that is probably only interesting if you know the person. Which I don't. Ooh! Here's an official wolf trap blog with a photo slideshow! And here's a compilation o' reviews, including one really really glowing one. Yay.
UPDATE, 5/24: More! A particularly well-written glowing review; someone who got cold and left but was nice about it; another cold fan. This fan took pictures.
UPDATE, 5/26: We were EPIC WIN. Another singer gives even more detail, with funny conductor quotes.
UPDATE, 5/27: They liked it at theonering.net. A happy, wet geek calls the show "magnificent."
UPDATE, 6/18: People are still blogging about it! (Woo!) This dude liked. We were clear and stuff. Someone posted more pictures.

Not only does he have a LotR avatar, did you catch what he wrote? "Weather was cool, but not too uncomfortable. I'm glad we brought cloaks with us." (emphasis added (possibly, if I did the tags right))
I know. I love that. Actually, the children's chorus appeared the second night in red velvet cloaks. That was pretty awesome. The first night, their solution for staying warm on stage was to wear their matching children's choir sweatshirts, with black duct-like tape over the logos. The cloaks were a little cooler-lookin.
The whole show sounds like it was amazing fun... very happy to hear that you might be doing The Two Towers next year. Did you get to learn Elvish?
Did you have a suitable Renee Fleming-type for solos? SHE WAS PHENOMENAL in the movie soundtrack...
Yeah, Renee Fleming is in the third movie and does a lovely job. The soloist (who I think would be the same one for all three movies) is this 19- or 20-year-old girl with a lovely ethereal tone and a nice lower range.
We sang in a ton of languages! And I only know that because I saw them listed in the program. I didn't know what we were singing, just how to pronounce it.
Hi, I found this blog after getting a couple clicks to my blog from it... thanks for calling my review "well-written"! Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your posts about the LOTR event from a choir singer's perspective! Great work in the choir, it was definitely a fantastic night! :-)
Hey, stranger - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It was soooo cool to perform. (As you could tell from my blog posts.) I hope they do the other two movies! And that I get to sing in them!
