nerdy excitement

Tonight I joined a new choir (I know, I know) and I am so excited about it. Why, you ask? Well, many reasons, but partly because we were singing in Elvish tonight. But Elvish is a made-up language, you say! Yes, but one which is very important if one is going to be performing THIS. Everyone should come see it, because can you imagine a better way to spend a lovely May evening? No? Neither can I. Go buy a ticket.

I think that may be utterly nuts. (But I'd probably go, too.)

So does this mean you're using a copy of the movie with some kind of anti-karaoke soundtrack (all the words, none of the music)? Or will it be silent? (I want to see intertitles.) What about sound effects?

Yeah, I haven't heard about the logistics, but we must be using a version with the music somehow taken out. We're doing the whole shebang - orchestra, chorus, soloists. Even a children's choir.

You should come down for it!

Wow, I carry enough Lord of the Rings love over from my childhood that I would pack my wife and daughter up for a trip to that. Could you convince them to bring the show to Madison (Chicago, least), preferably during a week that we're not closing on a house? That would be a very hobbitish thing of you to do.

I'd totally go if it were in Chicago. Or Wisconsin, for that matter.
