craigslist economics

I've mentioned before that I have a saved search on Craiglist where I look for furniture in my neighborhood. I don't even need any more furniture - I kind of just keep checking it out of habit. So when you check every day or two, you start to notice the same items coming back over and over. Like these chairs:

The owner has been trying to sell them for *months*. They pop up once a week or more at $60 for four chairs or $40 for two. And nobody's buying. Seriously, have you seen uglier chairs? Why would you want those in your house? And how on earth can it be worth it for that person to keep posting the ad? Seriously. Dude. Give them away. Or at least take a less ugly picture.

those look worse than doctor's offices chairs from the 80's.

it's just as bad when you notice the same apartments going up for rent for over a month, when others are gone before anyone gets to see them.

Maybe if the chair man took a photo with a naked woman sitting on one of them...

Well, it couldn't hurt.

How do you save a search in Craigslist? It doesn't offer that option through its own site, right? Do you just pay a day-laborer to search for you and fax you the links? I want to save a search for mission-style furniture to properly outfit our craftsman-style house (once we find a craftsman-style house, that is).

Oh yeah, that was a dumb way for me to phrase it. It's just the link - if you do a search on craigslist, it has a link. You can bookmark and come back to it over and over and over and over and over.

I mean it has a unique address. Which you can bookmark. Wow, I'm not coming up with the correct words today.

I'm so disappointed - I love the save-search feature on ebay, which brings me news of 40L Ralph Lauren tuxedos and size 12 LL Bean boots and other ridiculousness every day.
