i had a photographer friend from Vienna named "Stefan." he always laughed because i couldn't pronounce his name correctly . . . he said it like "shtefan" but with a very light 'h'. he also helped me realize that austrian german is so much more beautiful to listen to than german german. well, at least to me, who understands nothing.

I know a Timo and a Tobias - both German - and a Sebastian who is not German.
I have no idea why I'm sharing that. I'm really tired.
Nice! I don't know why either, but I'm happy you did. I've known a number of Stephanies, none of them German. And of course some Thomases.
Personally, I giggle inside whenever I meet someone named 'Stefan.' (German or not!) Something about that name has always sounded wrong to my ears.
Welcome back home, by the way!
