sleep

The other day I had to get up at 3:30 a.m. to call someone in South Africa at 4 a.m. (In South Africa it was the perfectly reasonable hour of 11 a.m.) The conversation I had was with a woman who (1) does not speak English, (2) has temporarily lost her hearing as the side effect of a medication, and (3) was speaking to me through a nonprofessional interpreter who (4) is not a native speaker of English. Good times. Oh and (5) we were on a weak cellphone connection. My job is funny.
