speaking of mandy moore

How often do you get to use the transition "speaking of Mandy Moore"? Anyway. Speaking of Mandy Moore, some of you may have missed Mandy Moore's cover of Rihanna's song Umbrella. If you are one of these people, go remedy this situation now. It's pretty great. You may also want to watch the original if you (like me) didn't know the song. I know, apparently it was all over the radio this summer. And yet I missed it.

Ok, shhh...but I'm secretly envious that you went to that show. She is one of my big guilty pleasures...totally. :)

That's a FAR preferable version of that song. It actually means something when she sings it!

Umbrella is actually A-Vo's favorite song. Right behing "LIttle White Duck." No lie.

Thanks for helping to remedy the situation. I loved it! It was actually better than Alanis Morissette's "My Humps."

IBYB, you should've come with us! You're a Birchmere veteran!

A.Vo is a child of excellent taste.

And yes, it's way better than My Humps, although J.Chu said she kept thinking of that while Mandy Moore was singing Umbrella.

Whoops. My previous comment got deleted (by me). ANyway, I was lamenting the fact that Mandy neglected to ask me to perform a Jay Z-esque rap at the beginning of the song, which I would have been happy to provide.

The Mandy Moore song is really lovely! and I had heard OF Umbrella, but not actually heard the song itself until today. That Rihanna is a cutie.

Sophist, have you see the video for Pon De Replay? It's superawesome in its Rihannaness, and you should watch to the end for the bicycle: http://youtube.com/watch?v=a3jbtv_hw2E

I've heard the song before at the gym but I definitely like the MM version better too. I just watched the original video and is it just me or does "umbrella" really mean "crotch" (or other un-blog friendly word)?

I would seriously shell out lots of cash to watch Dahvay rapping for Many Moore. Or Michael Moore. Or pretty much anybody.
