fun with sitemeter

So I finally last week got around to installing SiteMeter on my blog so I could find out, yknow, how many people read my blog (not very many) and where Sophist lives and stuff. (Ok, I don't really know where you live, but I do know where your ISP is based.) And so I could be like Grrrbear and report on the extremely strange google searches that bring people to my blog. Just now I found out that someone in Istanbul found me today by googling need friend stavanger roommate. Go ahead, try it. It gets you to my "friends" tag, which includes posts about my friend who lives near Stavanger, some mentions of roommates, and apparently the word "need." If anyone else stops by looking for the same, sorry - I can't help you find a roommate in Stavanger. But good luck!

woah. that article makes me glad i started using ActiveMeter instead. i had sitemeter on older versions of my website, and although i haven't canceled the service, the page it's embedded on isn't active anymore.

i mostly use my ActiveMeter to see who's looking at my site in reference to photography stuff. ie: the washington post looked twice, on two different days, in reference to info i sent to the Express. still haven't heard from them, dammit, but i did follow-up-email them this morning.

Gah - I'm glad I deleted Sitemeter! I was using Google Analytics, but given the low volume on my homepage, ActiveMeter looks a lot better.

Hm, maybe I'll give Activemeter a try.

Holy crap! I had both SM and Statcounter working on mine. Now, it's just SC. Dirty rats.

To think, I only came back here to mention that someone came to my site looking for "Wii friendly porn". My blog disappoints yet again! Hee hee!
