Step 1. Raid the genius chef's insane breakfast buffet. (Seriously. Three kinds of jam, at least four kinds of meat, a lot of cheese if you're into that, at least three kinds of pickled herring, random vegetables. Although I don't recommend wet ingredients like herring and jam, since this is all going in paper.)
2. Assemble open-faced sandwiches. (Note the piece of matpapir between the two sandwiches keeping the slices of cucumber on the bottom sandwich from soaking the top piece of bread.)
3. Wrap. The lady dancer's daughter has two kids and would tell you, if she were here, that I wrapped this wrong. If she'd been there when I wrapped it, she would've taken it away from me and done it properly. (Her way, you end up with a little handle at one end. It's way cute.)
4. Consume. With deliciousness. (Like my use of the self-timer?) Bonus points for consuming while wearing a Threadless shirt.
You think my new employer would let me write about matpakker? (Everyone's gotten it from the e-mailed clue so far, although I will give honorable mention to J.Bro's alternate guess: Boy's Life, The Official Magazine for Scouts. Way more prestigious than the real answer.)

looks soooo good. Are there multiple ways to properly wrap a matpakke, or is there only one way?
I'm sorry to say I can't remember the details of how my colleagues' matpakker were wrapped when I lived in Norway. But the lady dancer's daughter is pretty clear on the right way to do it, so maybe we'll just have to defer to her authority.
Personally, I prefer the American way of throwing it into a plastic bag.
I wore that same shirt just the other day! Well, not that exact same shirt, but the same style of shirt, in a bigger size.
