high school musical

Yesterday I rode up to an open house in Frederick with Miss Shirley, Mr. Miss, and Little Miss. It's freaking far to Frederick, so we had time to talk about many things, like for example the [fascinating] fact that I'd just gotten High School Musical from Netflix. Miss Shirley looked at me funny. I said, "What, do you own it? I could have borrow--?" and she said, "No!! You own it! I got it for you for Christmas!"

So I just finished watching it, and she's right, it's totally cute. For those who have missed the High School Musical phenomenon, it was a made-for-Disney-channel movie, and it's refreshingly clean and totally popular with the preteen set. And me. I looooved it. Of course, I loved From Justin to Kelly, too, and not 100% in an ironic way. I think this may have to be one of our musical parties. You can set the DVD to "sing-along" so it shows you the lyrics to all the songs.

It's also the #1-selling album of 2006, followed by Hannah Montana, then Cheetah Girls. Disney/Nickelodeon are a CD-selling colossus!

I can't wait to rent it! I had ceased my Netflix subscription because I didn't have time to watch movies (hence I never responded to the invitation you sent me to share lists... sorry!) but next time I start up again I'm putting it on the list. I love stuff for preteens. Especially Disney made for TV movies.

Aha! And I thought you just didn't like me! ;) This is one you should *definitely* see.
