sisyphus

I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to spend the rest of my life writing variations on this sentence:
Embryonic stem cells are taken from early embryos, which some people object to because the process destroys the embryo, which could otherwise have found its way into a uterus and continued down the path of development.

I guess I can't blame people for not memorizing the biology of the stem cell debate, but I do wish there was a button on my keyboard that would just plug in the background information, with clever variations on the wording each time.

I find it downright sad that you have to explain it at all - like, why the hell is it so damn political. Yea, I know the answer. But I still don't get it.

I'm running into the same problem. how many ways can I explain that there are "a" and "alpha" cells, and that their sex is determined by a single locus in the genome? I'm totally guilty of "self-plagiarization," but I just can't find a way around it.

Yeah, I was tempted today to go back to the last stem cell story I did and cut-n-paste. Which I think would actually be acceptable behavior, but rather than ask someone, I just started over.
