You have to go read this Times review of The Da Vinci Code, if for no other reason than because A.O. Scott describes the movie thus: "Ron Howard's adaptation of Dan Brown's best-selling primer on how not to write an English sentence."

I think The Left Behind series also qualifies as a prime example of how not to write in English. It's a bit surreal how shitty the writing is!
