shave

A few hours before we left, Stimpera took us out for shave ice at a place down the street from her house. It was super good! I assumed shave ice was like sno-cones, but it turns out to be way better - it's almost the consistency of sherbet. I guess now I have to go back to Hawaii to eat it again.

That looks seriously yummy! Is it available outside of Hawaii?

Hm. I don't know. I think they might actually have it in Japan, but I never got it because I assumed it was like snow cones.

Oh man, I used to get rainbow shaved ice from the manapua man (HI's version of the ice cream man.) It was sooo good. I think it was the precursor to my slurpee obsession.
