stinkin' grammar checker

Word just popped up a little window to tell me there are too many spelling and grammatical errors in my document to continue displaying them. (Not that it was actually displaying them - that's the first "feature" I turn off.) I'm kinda proud I managed to get the Word spellchecker to throw up its hands in disgust. But if it was ever going to happen, this would be the document to do it - a 57-page-and-growing transcription of my recordings from that trip I took to North Carolina in September. It's like one big typo.

Yes! Way to go sister, keep the struggle alive! Victory over the imperialist spellcheck forces will soon be upon us...

Wo-o-o-o-o-o-w. I didn't even know that was possible. There's something rather beautiful about the notion that a bad enough speller could defeat Word completely.

I get the message on a daily basis - when I copy statistical readouts into Word. Stupid word. Can't recognize Stata Data to save it's life.
