newspapers

I LOVE THIS STORY. People across the country are lining up...to buy newspapers! The Post sold out, even after they upped their print run, and then they did a special run, and that sold out, too. This morning at 8:30 when I got on the metro, the guys who hand out the competing free newspapers were already both empty-handed. The Express guy had even given away the copy from the clear plastic window in his vest.

Yay old media.

due to a cascade of late-ness all day, i missed my chance to get a newspaper - any newspaper! i'm still hoping maybe someone got two and is willing to share.

so, today i picked up my usual express, a copy of the Washington Times' commemorative issue (which is actually kinda neat - one of my photographer friends has a photo in it), and the Post.

there's all sorts of goodies in each today. better late than never, right?

What happened to generate all this interest in newspapers? Did a war start? Did someone land on Mars? I just don't remember anything eventful from the past couple days....although I do seem to remember drinking heavily the night before last....
