If you hadn't already given up on me, fashion-wise, it's time. I now own TWO pairs of crocs. It was so sad every morning when I had to take off my in-house crocs and leave for work, that finally I gave in and ordered a pair of black mary jane crocs, which, I swear, are way more presentable than my other pair. At least I should be able to wear them to work and change there without feeling like I'm commuting in clown shoes.
In fact, here is an anecdote to show you how relatively acceptable they are. Last night I gave them their first outing by wearing them to a party with a very snazzy dress. After I'd been standing around for a while talking to some of my fellow science writers, S.Vix said, "Are those your new crocs?" And! one of the others, who hates crocs with a passion, said she'd noticed them and didn't realize they were crocs. So I think they're way more acceptable than these.

Ah, but now you've just commuted (so to speak) the pain of changing out of your crocs until you get to work. It's going to be veeery tempting to just wear them all day.
Not to mention that I'm now tempted to get a pair. Damn you, TOWWAS!

...and tempted you will be. I wear my clogs into work (that's all I'd wear if I could break out of the old corporate man mode, but alas...) and change into my very proper shoes for the workday, then slip back into by clogs for the walk to the car and home. A nice routine for a number of years - but I am now finding myself just not changing if I don't have a meeting or other "encounter" scheduled with the client...used to just be on Fridays but I'm slipping more often lately... I do get a look or two from my office mates but, well looks that don't really matter....
Ok, what is it that's so awesome about Crocs anyway? I know what they are and that they're fast becoming shoe-kudzu, but why?? Please help.
So. Comfortable.
Do they have good arch support? I'm back to being Limpy McLimpster with the whole plantar fasciitis thing.
I don't really know...I just know they make my feet happy. :)
Sounds like a cult...
Ahem.
