late plate

So, last night K619 got married. The wedding was lovely and K619 was beauuuutiful, but if you know K619, you know that this is pretty much her natural state. Instead, I will draw your attention to the plates at the reception:

Seriously. This is what the restaurant pulls out for a wedding reception?

"The New Millenium"?!?!?! Wowzers. Um, I'm just not sure what to say. But there has to be some major etiquette faux pas going on there!

Wow. I'm sure the person in charge of purchasing those plates realized their error on 1/1/01. But I'm kind of horrified that they still haven't replaced them. K619 should ask for a partial refund!

I'm hoping they just ran out of the good plates for our table. ('Cause see how cute the bread plates are? So cute!) Anyway, the food *on* the plates was good. And the music. And the wedding. And stuff.

Dude, if she wanted a wedding reception with mismatched and seasonally-inappropriate dishes, I would've thrown one for her for half of what she paid. :)

Maybe the underlying message is that their wedding was the beginning of a new era... much like a new millennium.

Oh, S.Vix, I like that!

That is perhaps the best thing I've ever seen. You can totally see the catering director trying to explain his way out of that one. "Oh, but it IS the new millenium...OF YOUR LOVE!!!!"

My god, that's pretty nuts with the restaurant. If K619 were a picky girl she would be well within her rights to complain vociferously and demand some kind of compensation. But I suppose as long as the food ON the plates was OK...
