it's just orange soda

When I lived in Norway, Solo had the best advertising campaign. Here's one of the TV commercials: A guy and his son are in a boat in the middle of a lake. No shore is visible in any direction. The guy is trying to start the motor, and he's pulling and pulling on the string, and it won't start, and finally he stops, takes a big swig of his Solo - angels sing - and gives the string one last mighty yank. The motor falls into the lake. The slogan: «sannsynligvis den eneste brusen som ikke hjelper mot annet enn tørsten». That is, "probably the only soda that doesn't help you with anything but thirst."

Also, everyone knows this is the soda of the great outdoors and traveling, so I bought this one to cheer me up on my Bus Ride of Extreme Longness.

What a refreshing commercial. It's funny that advertising a product for what it actually does has become so unconventional that it's hip!
