cup of tea

I think this is the kind of confession that could get my status as an honorary Japanese person revoked, but some of the tea in my tea drawer at work (cleverly disguised as a file drawer - see the files at the bottom right of the picture?) has been in there for upwards of two years. Shhh. Don't tell. I still drink it - tastes fine to me. Proving, once and for all, that I am a Philistine.

and what *is* the traditional drawer-life of tea? i almost guarantee that my box of throat coat and container of ginger-throat tea will make an encore appearance for next year's show.

hopefully, the nasty cold will not.

Yeah...I don't really know, either. For green tea, I think not more than a few months?

Ha hahahahaah... I totally have tea that is 8 years old and I still drink it. It's PG Tips, so not exactly high class green tea or anything, but it tastes great. I also have some brown-rice green tea that is 3 years old and I just had some this morning. Tasty. I'm sure there's a huge difference, but I'll leave the connoisseurs to enjoy the fresh stuff, as the old stuff makes me just as happy... I am DEFINITELY a "banana" of a Taiwanese person.

Yeah, I'm more of a marshmallow of a Japanese person. A tall marshmallow. Perhaps a white candy cane, if there is such a thing. Or a baguette.
