Fall is here! It came abruptly - it was kind of warm and nice for a few weeks, then suddenly, boom: 40's and windy. Today we threw rainy into the mix. But yesterday it was just sunny and cool and lovely, and I walked to lunch with a colleague. On the way back from Five Guys, I made her hold my drink while I took pictures of this tree.

I also just got back from upstate NY - and yes, it was spectacular! Here in Madison, things are a bit browner, and the trees lost their leaves before we could really enjoy them.
I miss fall colors! There are a few more trees that turn colors in Berkeley than in SF, so it feels a little more like fall, but not much. It'll never be the sea of red and orange and yellow elsewhere in the States. I MISS IT!!!
