The other day J.Vo left a voicemail telling me that R.E.M. has a new album out this week. What the heck? How did I not know that? While being all over the knowledge that Justin Timberlake's album came out today?
...Oh oh oh ok. I just looked it up and it's And I Feel Fine…The Best of the I.R.S. Years 1982-1987, which I had heard about. Phew! I was worried there. When I heard about the new release, I was like, uh, isn't that what Eponymous is? But if I remember correctly, IRS put that together without consulting the band, so maybe the new one does make sense.
And if it makes anyone feel any better, I haven't actually bought Justin's album.
Yet.

Not only is there Eponymous, but there's also "REM in the Attic," which was another unauthorized best-of from the IRS years. I have mixed feelings about this new disc. Some of the extras look cool, but I feel like I could compile the bulk of it from my own ginormous REM collection.
