I don't know if it's worse to be thought of as gossipy and bar-hoppingy or as completely out of the loop rubes as we in ol' 'fly-over country' are perceived. (I _hate_ that phrase, BTW.)
I'd rather be thought of as normal, I guess. And by normal, I mean "out-of-the-loop rube." If the alternative is being part of the media elite (gag).
