everybody loves a quiz

Find out where you fit on Pew's political spectrum. Okay, so it's not, like, a Seventeen quiz, but it's fun anyway. Speaking of Seventeen, today I read the novel Prep. (Yes, I read it all today - I spent the first part of my vacation with the Swiss Family Vo, and I'm spending the rest sitting on my ass.) I expected it to be like the Nanny Diaries or something, but it was actually a legitimately good book. It's about a girl in Indiana who gets it into her head that she should go to boarding school for high school. She ends up on scholarship at a snooty Massachusetts school, and the book is about how self-conscious and unhappy she is. The people in the book have really funny rich-kid names, like Gates (girl) and Cross (boy) and Devin (boy). So, hey, Curtis Sittenfeld (girl), if you are a person who obsessively googles yourself, nicely done. My little Seventeen transition up there is because the About the Author says she won a writing contest in Seventeen in 1992.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised there wasn't more subdivision of liberals. Did you notice it's the biggest of their categories?
