and anyway

I could never rise to the level of J.Po, with all her cute hockey players and worthy causes and musings and stuff. I'd read my own blog and just get depressed about how boring it is. Kind of like I'm doing now. Okay, this is just sad. I'm going to go read a book.

What book are you reading? I just started Freakonomics and I'm enthralled. But then, I was an econ major.

I swear, it's the only business-type book I've read - no Stephen Covey, no books about cheese thieves, no Jack Welch. I'm trying to remain true to my liberal arts college roots (pronounced ruuts).

Three posts in one day! Very nice. (I'm a pal of J. Po's).

You might like John Cage's poem, which starts:
"I have nothing to say and I am saying it and that is poetry."

Hmm, I think I'll put that on my page.

J.P., you are a huge dork. And that's why I love you. I am reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I find this mildly embarrassing. I'm also reading a book of essays about language, which makes me feel a little better about myself. Both of those came from the free pile at work. I have a Norwegian mystery novel by my bed, but I think that might be a bit ambitious - I've only read the first few pages. I read the Freakonomics column in the NYT magazine, but I'm skeptical about all that skepticism.

That is a nice poem, you're right.

Wow, JPo and I had a secret (alas, failed) mission to see the movie inspired by that book!!! We didn't get to go because it was showing at 9:20, which would mean we would finish past our bedtimes.

Incidentally I also have Freakonomics sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read.

Oh, I just removed my last comment because I made a grammatical error - I didn't know blogspot would be all dramatic about it. Well anyway, I was like, yeah, I haven't seen the movie, it's supposed to be all sad, and I'm a wimp, and besides, I hadn't read the book yet. So, that's what you missed.

Dude, TheOne (I've shortened your blogname to make it writable). Don't worry about grammar. I can't spell AT ALL and I used to be really really concerned about it and look up every other word. Then I stopped caring. It's much more fun to just post crap. Cause people will read it.

And, while you're on the topic of books, I'm reading Middlesex. VERY GOOD.

I just finished Harry Potter. I didn't cry...I think I'd heard too much about how sad it was, so the sad part didn't really surprise me. And, J.Po, I'm afraid I will never get over being obsessed with grammar.
