now is the month of maying
Today Miss Shirley, Wurzy/Racine, and I, plus about a dozen others, represented the Christmas Show at a plant sale. This is the madrigal group, one of my six singing groups. It was good times, although K619 was a little worried when she showed up to buy plants, saw the sign, and thought she'd forgotten about a performance. It's fun - we have notebooks stocked with 16 madrigals, most of which I can get through without embarrassing myself, and we sing for a while in the tent, then we dance a maypole. We did three sets. It was good times. Here's what happens when you invite the audience to join in the maypole:
Maypoles are a real, live thing? Like, that exists?

They are real, and they are dorkalicious fun.
ReplyDeletej.bro, i was like you not too long ago. maypoles, like square dancing, are like green eggs and ham. you won't know if you like it until you try it. :) (or at least see it done by people who like it, too.)

I'll wait for the confirmation pictures. Notice, J.Bro that you can't actually see the *pole* in that picture. It could just as easily be a bunch of people running around carrying streamers attached to some sort of gantry or other specially-designed streamer-holding device...
